PBAT force deepens grassroots footprint, unveils cohesion strategy

President Bola Tinubu’s support group, PBAT Force, has continued to consolidate its influence across grassroots communities in Lagos State, combining structured mobilisation with policy engagement and community-based initiatives in support of the president’s reelection.

The group is positioning itself as more than a conventional campaign structure emerging instead of a grassroots-driven movement focused on political education, community impact and sustained engagement.

As part of its evolving strategy, the group has announced plans to convene a high-level cohesion interactive session aimed at reinforcing unity, institutional memory and long-term sustainability within the All Progressives Congress (APC).

The initiative, aligned with the Renewed Hope vision of the Tinubu administration, was designed to foster intergenerational dialogue within the ruling party as it intensifies preparations towards future electoral cycles, particularly the 2027 general elections.

According to the organisers, the session will bring together veteran political actors often described as the “old breed,” alongside emerging leaders to exchange experiences, tested strategies and institutional knowledge. The goal is to bridge generational divides, deepen internal cohesion and equip younger politicians with the resilience and insight required for long-term political relevance.

Director-General of PBAT Force, Prince Wale Oluwa, described the initiative as a critical intervention for party continuity.

“This cohesion interactive session marks a significant moment in the evolution of the APC. By sharing knowledge, experiences and tested political strategies, we aim to ensure the party remains strong, innovative and sustainable for years to come, especially as we look towards 2027,” he said.

He added that strengthening synergy between established and emerging leaders would help build a more forward-looking and resilient political structure.

Political observers say the timing of the initiative is strategic, coming amid intensified internal consultations and grassroots mobilisation within the ruling party.

However, the group has concluded arrangements to formally unveil its broader campaign and mobilisation platform, conceived as a nationwide vehicle to galvanise support for President Tinubu’s re-election bid.

Describing the initiative as a unifying call, Prince Oluwa noted that the movement was designed to transcend ethnic, religious and regional divides.

“This support movement is a clarion call for unity. Our collective strength lies in coming together to build a future defined by shared progress and national development,” he stated.

The group disclosed that it had already begun activating structures beyond Lagos, laying the groundwork for a coordinated national presence anchored on unity, continuity and development.

Beyond political messaging, PBAT Force has articulated a set of core programme pillars guiding its operations and outreach.

At the heart of its activities is community impact and problem-solving, with the group identifying local challenges such as sanitation, employment and public services, while escalating concerns to relevant authorities or initiating small-scale interventions like clean-up campaigns and skill acquisition programmes.

It is also prioritising policy awareness and translation, simplifying the Federal Government’s policies into relatable terms for traders, artisans, students and transport operators, bridging the communication gap between governance and everyday life.

Recognising widespread public skepticism, the group is placing emphasis on trust-building, committing to consistent engagement beyond election cycles, active listening and realistic communication with communities.

A significant component of its outreach targets youth and first-time voters, with programmes focused on civic education, voter awareness and leadership development aimed at strengthening democratic participation.

PBAT Force is equally positioning itself as a feedback bridge to the government, systematically gathering grassroots concerns, documenting them and relaying them to appropriate party and government channels.
