A pastor with one of the Pentecostal churches in Nigeria and three others have been arrested for stealing a two-month-old baby and selling it at different prices to various parties.
The baby was rescued from the last buyer during the naming ceremony in Festac Town, Lagos.
According to the police, the baby was stolen and sold to a pastor who in turn sold the child to another woman that resold to the final buyer in Lagos.
The police rescued the lucky baby during his naming ceremony in Festac Town.
It was a scandalous scene as those who gathered for the child’s naming ceremony scampered for safety to avoid being arrested by the policemen who stormed the venue of the ceremony.
Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Benjamin Hundyin, who confirmed the story, gave a graphic account of how the baby boy was rescued, saying: “Detectives of Oko-Oba Division have successfully apprehended several individuals involved in a child trafficking operation following a report from the mother of a two-month-old missing boy.
