It was a celebration of vision, passion, achievement and the promise of a brighter football future as Paddysco Sports Academy marked its 10th anniversary in grand style, reflecting on a decade of remarkable contributions to grassroots football development and youth empowerment.
The colourful celebration, held under the theme “10 Years of Impact, Excellence and Future Champions,” brought together football administrators, distinguished personalities, parents, business leaders and other stakeholders to celebrate an academy that has remained committed to discovering, nurturing and developing young football talents.
Over the past decade, Paddysco Sports Academy has continued to provide a structured platform for aspiring footballers to discover their potential, sharpen their skills and pursue their dreams of becoming professional footballers. Its 10th anniversary was therefore not just a celebration of longevity but a testament to its enduring commitment to grassroots football development.
The landmark occasion attracted notable football personalities, including the Lagos State Football Association Chairman, Haji Gafar Liameed, and his Vice Chairman, Dr Dotun Coker. Members of the Badagry Divisional Football Association (BDFA) board, entrepreneurs, captains of industry, parents and other key stakeholders were also in attendance, underscoring the academy’s growing influence within the football community.
Beyond the formalities, the event was a spectacular blend of glamour, entertainment and sporting excellence. Colourful performances, lively entertainment and exciting football demonstrations created an atmosphere of excitement, while the academy’s various age-grade teams thrilled guests with impressive displays of technical ability, tactical awareness, teamwork and understanding of the beautiful game.
Under the guidance of their dedicated instructors, the young footballers demonstrated the quality of training and discipline that have become central to the academy’s developmental philosophy.
For parents and guardians, the occasion was particularly emotional and fulfilling. It offered an opportunity to celebrate not only their children’s progress on the football pitch but also their growth in confidence, discipline, responsibility and character. Their consistent encouragement, sacrifices and unwavering support have remained indispensable to the academy’s journey over the years.
The anniversary also served as a platform to recognise and celebrate distinguished academicians, committed members of staff and individuals whose dedication, contributions and sacrifices have played significant roles in building the academy into what it is today.
Speaking at the event, the President/Chairman of Paddysco Sports Academy, Mr. Peter Okereke, reassured parents and stakeholders of the academy’s determination to reach greater heights. He highlighted ambitious plans to establish stronger international partnerships and attract foreign scouts, initiatives aimed at expanding the academy’s global visibility and creating greater opportunities for its talented youngsters.
His assurance further reinforced the academy’s determination to move beyond local recognition and position its players for opportunities on the international football stage.
As Paddysco Sports Academy celebrates this significant milestone, its journey is far from over. Rather, the 10th anniversary represents a renewed commitment to raising standards, strengthening its developmental structure, expanding opportunities and producing well-rounded football talents equipped to compete at the highest levels.
Indeed, the story of the academy is one of vision, consistency, sacrifice and an unwavering belief in the potential of young people.
Ten years down the line, the mission remains stronger than ever: discovering talents, building character, creating opportunities and nurturing the next generation of football champions.
