Oyo PDP guber candidate votes, says everything ok

The governorship candidate of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Oyo State, Mr Oluseyi Makinde, who is also the consensus candidate of more than five leading opposition parties, cast his vote at 9:30am.

He voted alongside his wife at Ward 11, Unit 1, Abayomi, Iwo Road, Ibadan North East Local Government.

After casting his vote, he commended the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) on the conduct of the polls so far, adding that he had did not see anything untoward about till the time he voted.

But Makinde said it was too early to give a comprehensive assessment of the exercise, adding that the people of Oyo State would decide who would be their governor.

Makinde was on Monday endorsed as an opposition coalition governorship candidate. The party that endorsed him include his party, the PDP, African Democratic Party (ADC), Zenith Labour Party (ZLP), Social Democratic Party (SDP) and New Progressive Movement (NPM).

The coalition is being led by a former govenor of Oyo State and Osi Olubadan of Ibadanland, Senator Rashidi Ladoja.

The governorship candidates that stepped down for Makinde were Senator Olufemi Lanlehin of ADC, Chief Bolaji Ayorinde (SAN) of SDP, Chief Sarafadeen Alli of ZLP, and Lt. Col. Feyisayo Ladoye (rtd) of NPM. They also asked their followers to vote for Makinde.
