• Oboh describes ex- Edo governor as political pacesetter

The South-South Vice Chairman of the African Democratic Congress, Elder Festus Igbinoba, has said his party will be able to give the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) a run for its money in the forthcoming 2027 presidential election with the choice of Chief John Odigie Oyegun in the party.
He disclosed this while reacting to the personality of Oyegun who has been officially welcomed into the party by the Edo State chairman of the party, Mr. Kennedy Odion.
Recall that Oyegun was officially handed the party’s card at the party’s secretariat in Benin City, the Edo State capital.
Elder Igbinoba said Chief Oyegun who is known for his uprightness has the ability to garner support for the party in the state because he is well known in Edo and across the 36 states.
Igbinoba said while the person of Chief Oyegun has set the ball rolling in the state, there is no doubt that more notable sons and daughters of the state will also join him in the party for the sole purpose of rescuing Nigerians from the strong grip of economic hardship, high level of insecurity in the country as well.
Mabel Oboh, former governorship candidate of the party in the 2020 Edo State governorship election, said Oyegun had done the needful by officially identifying with the party in his state.
Oboh who is the immediate past National Publicity Secretary of the party, said Oyegun had set the pace for others who have come to join the party to also go and officially get their membership cards from the party in their various states.
She said the task of rescuing Nigerians from bad leadership, which is the root cause of insecurity, hunger and starvation, inflation and unemployment is one that must be done by all, especially the patriotic Nigerians who have come to join the ADC.
She further called on the ADC members in Edo State to welcome Oyegun into the party with open arms because they have a lot to gain from “his wealth of experience in the state and in national politics which is not what money can buy in the market.”
