Recently, the people of Owu-Ikosi, Ikosi-Ejinrin Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Lagos, had a fresh breath of fresh air, as Merry Gold Water Project, an NGO, built a borehole for the community.

Chairman of the NGO, Prince Akeem Olugbenga Adenuga, said at the inauguration, via zoom:

“While growing up, we used to travel far from home to fetch water. That was very rigorous then. Now, we are in a jet age, there is no need to travel far from home to fetch water.

“In 2021, we constructed the first borehole for the people of Odo Ayandelu town. The water project has helped over 2000 residents to have access to water on daily basis.  Having fulfilled the dream, we decided to extend the gesture to the people of Owu-Ikosi, another neighbouring community.

“The water project will serve over 3000 people. We will power the water project with Solar, so that the people will benefit from the gesture. I am fulfilled that some eminent people share in this vision and happy that the dream is coming to pass.”

Executive Chairman, LCDA, Wale Raji Anomo, represented by his Chief of Staff, Prince Wale Gberefu, urged the people to be good ambassadors: “The chairman of the LCDA will not relent in his efforts to contribute his quota to the development of the area.”
