Over 2,000 women from three local government areas in Osun have staged a solidarity rally in the hometown of Chief Bisi Akande, Ila-Orangun, in support of All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate, Asiwaju Bola Oyebamiji (AMBO) and House of Representatives hopeful Adeniyi Ismail Oluwatosin (AIO).
The rally came as the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) concluded its Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) exercise ahead of the 2026/2027 elections.
The women from Boluwaduro, Ifedayo, and Ila-Orangun converged at Akande’s family house and marched through several communities, including Ile-Obalumon, Oke-Ede, Complex, Oja, Ita Aperin, Ajegunle, Ile Obasolo, Ile Oloye, Ile-Aseda and Afin.
The women, under the aegis of AIO’s Women, led by coordinator, Mrs Tawakalt Suleiman, were joined by Hon. Adeniyi at the palace of the Orangun of Ila. The group moved for about 10.3km, accompanied by security operatives to maintain law and order.

Mrs. Suleiman said the women came together from the three councils to canvas support for President Bola Tinubu, AMBO, and Adeniyi.
She noted that they had been engaging residents through door-to-door campaigns and mobilising new voters for CVR, which ended on Saturday, adding that the rally was to reaffirm their commitment to the APC.
Addressing the women at the APC secretariat, Adeniyi said the mobilisation of new voters through CVR and intensified door-to-door campaigns by youths and women would ensure APC wins the federal constituency “landslide.”
He added that residents in the three councils are eager for a new leadership in Osun, saying they are tired of the current administration and are anticipating a “progressive administration” expected to be elected on August 15.
Adeniyi urged the women to continue the campaign in their various polling units, wards, and localities, assuring them of logistics support to make the exercise successful.
