Elijah Onyeagba, the All Progressives Congress (APC) House of Representatives candidate for Dunukofia/Njikoka/Anaocha (DNA) Federal Constituency, said on Monday that the party’s primary elections in Anambra State were conducted peacefully and that he has already begun outreach to heal internal rifts ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Onyeagba described the contest in his constituency as a “game of wits,” where everybody is trying to outwit the other.
He said: “It’s been an interesting event. It is what we refer to as the game of wits, where you find out that a lot of people are trying to find a way to outwit one another. The battle ahead is such that whoever emerges as a candidate will eventually have a lot of work to do trying to unite the party and bring everyone together.”
He noted that the APC made its procedures clear in a circular directing that results for the federal House of Representatives primaries be collated at the ward level, upgraded to the local government, and then transmitted to the designated federal‑constituency centre.
“The APC made it very clear that there are procedures for youth to follow in conducting the primary elections,” he said, adding that his constituency’s primary was conducted in a peaceful manner and that results had been submitted.
