Super Eagles striker, Paul Onuachu could become Ole Gunnar Solskjær’s first signing as the new manager of Besiktas.
The Norwegian coach was appointed following the departure of Giovanni van Bronckhorst in December.
Turkish media outlet Sabah has reported that Besiktas is interested in the Southampton forward after recent links surfaced.
Despite the previous connections, Sabah indicates that the Black Eagles are preparing a “surprise” move for Onuachu as they seek to strengthen their attack in this transfer window. With Ciro Immobile reportedly unhappy in Istanbul, the Super Lig giants want to resolve this situation before the transfer deadline.
This week, we also noted reports from the Turkish press that Besiktas is keen to sign the 30-year-old striker, with new president Serdal Adalı actively working on a deal for the Southampton player.
Onuachu spent last season on loan in the Super Lig, where he made a strong impression with Trabzonspor, scoring 17 goals in 25 appearances.
While he has played 12 matches for Southampton this season, he has often been used as a substitute. Onuachu is under contract with the Saints until June 2026.
