The commercial city of Onitsha, Anambra State was temporarily shut down following a solidarity March organised for a member representing Onitsha North and South federal House of Representatives, Hon Lynda Chuba Ikpeazu for her re-election into the House in next month’s election.

The Director General of Lynda Ikpeazu Campaign Organisation, Chief Frank Onuoha described the road show/March as selfless and voluntary service as the constituents were on their own joined the march defiling the scorching sun due to the love they have for Ikpeazu.
He said that numerous works of Ikpeazu in Onitsha North and South was enough campaign for her and she doesn’t need to do more campaign because the roads, empowerment, skill acquisition training, streetlights, and free medical services among others she attracted has made her more popular and loved by the people.
“This solidarity road show/march is in support of the mother Theresa of our time who has put smiles on the faces of her constituents due to her various life-affecting programmes and activities. As you can see that many traders and residents despite the hardship and scarcity of money, defiled all these to join in the show which is the mother of all the shows in the commercial city.
“Even some people who did not know about the roadshow joined immediately they realised that it is in support of Hon Ikpeazu because of her good work. The lawmaker has saved many lives in her free medical services with surgeries she organised periodically in Onitsha” Onuoha stated.
Some of the participants at the roadshow, Mrs Rose Onochie, Mr Dan Omeh, Nnanna Obum, Alice Modebe, Jude Agbo, Uchenna Ojika, Ngozi Okeke, Nneka Dim, Emeka Arum, among others, said that the road show was to show love and create more awareness of what Ikpeazu stand for as good representation.
“We all came out on our own, no inducement, we decided to sacrifice today to honour whom honour is due and to show her love and appreciation of what she has been doing in Onitsha North and South. Ikpeazu’s achievements are not hidden, it is everywhere, look at the roads, the empowerments, free surgeries, and skill acquisition, it’s uncountable. We want her to go back to continue the good work and to become even the speaker because she has the quality and experience,” they stated.
