A governorship aspirant of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ondo State, Mr Morayo Lebi has hailed the appointment of Chief Pius Akinyelure as chairman, Board of the Nigeria National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) and the confirmation of Mrs Wura-Ola Adepoju as the Comptroller General of the Nigeria Immigration Service.
The gubernatorial hopeful said the appointments of the two indigenes of Ondo State are well deserved and therefore expressed gratitude to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for the appointments.
Lébí described Akinyelure as a great man of honour and integrity whose appointment was well deserved.
He said “Akinyelure is an elder statesman with an indepth and robust knowledge who was among Nigerian pioneers in the Oil and Gas sector, which President Bola Tinubu can also attest to.”
The APC stalwart also expressed confidence in the capabilities and experience of the two appointees, saying that the two of them will deliver in their offices.
“Soon Nigeria will now realize much of your potential and possibilities for making NNPC a better place in all areas for the mutual benefits of our peoples,” Lebi said.
He stated that “Akinyelure is bringing his over five decade of cognitive corporate experience to bear in this political office and this will reflect on the supersonic performances that Nigerians and the world at large are about to witness in due course.”
Lébí also said that the combination of Alhaji Mele Kyari, the group Chief Executive Officer of the NNPCL and Akinyelure, a long standing ally of the President is like putting square pegs in square holes.
He said “Akinyelure has had a long lasting and trusted relationship with the president since their days in Mobil Oil Nigeria plc.
It is also on note that Pa Akinyelure was a foundation member of APC where he later emerged the national vice Chairman (South West) before he was appointed by President Muhammadu Buhari as board member of the NNPCL.
