Omni Foundation has started the journey of training the son of its late board member, Chikaodiri Augustus, up to university level as it promised.
The group has released N300, 000 to the wife of the deceased, Mrs. Ozioma Augustus, to cover the tuition for the three terms, cost of uniform, books and other possible school exigencies of the beneficiary, Masterr Osinakachukwu Chikaodiri, currently starting JSS 3.
Executive Director of Omni Foundation, Dr. David Ogbonna, who disclosed this in Abakaliki, said the release of the fund was an affirmation that the foundation’s Chief Executive Officer, Chief Nwigwe Chibueze, was a man of his own words and would not go back in the promise of the foundation training the child up to university level in any discipline of his choice.
He said the foundation would continue to offer bursary scholarships to undergraduates of Ugwulangwu in Ohaozara Local Government Area of the state, as well as sustain the yearly award of N500, 000 to anyone that graduated with first class in any Nigerian university.
Acting Director of Communication of the foundation, Dr. Joseph Chukwu, in a statement said, the wife of late Augustus, Mrs. Ozioma Augustus, expressed heart-felt appreciation to the foundation and the chief executive officer, praying God to prosper them.
Chikaodiri Augustus, who was a lecturer at the Department of English and Literary Studies, Alex Ekwueme Federal University, Ndufu Alike, Ebonyi State, as well as a director in the Foundation, suddenly died on May 1, 2023.
