The Oma Life Rescue Foundation (OLIRF), alongside its development partners, has unveiled plans to provide scholarships to one million Nigerian students over the next decade under its flagship A Million Dream Educational Scholarship Project.
The foundation’s Founder and CEO, Ambassador Omanibe Ameh-Sanusi, disclosed this ahead of the official launch scheduled for July 27, 2026, in Abuja.
She described the initiative as a major national intervention targeting brilliant but financially disadvantaged youths across all six geopolitical zones, supporting 100,000 beneficiaries annually between 2026 and 2036.
The scholarship, according to her, targets basic education (30 per cent), senior secondary schools (50 per cent), and tertiary institutions (20 per cent). Priority will be given to orphans, vulnerable children, and academically outstanding students facing financial hardship.
“Our vision is to produce one million graduates over the next ten years,” Ameh-Sanusi said, noting that the selection will prioritize strategic fields like medicine, engineering, AI, cybersecurity, agriculture, and renewable energy.’
She added that beneficiaries would receive a ₦100,000 annual grant alongside tuition concessions secured through partnerships with various universities. Ameh-Sanusi stressed that the project aims to restore faith in education among Nigerian youths. For over a decade, OLIRF has implemented key humanitarian programmes across healthcare, education, and youth empowerment.
The upcoming launch is expected to attract high-profile dignitaries, including the First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, as the Special Guest of Honour.
Other expected guests include the Education Minister, Dr. Maruf Alausa; Women Affairs Minister, Hajiya Imaan Sulaiman-Ibrahim; Minister of State for Budget Dr. Doris Uzoka-Anite; FCT Minister of State, Dr. Mariya Mahmoud Bunkure; UBEC Executive Secretary, Aisha Garba; and UniAbuja Vice Chancellor, Abubakar Umar Tambuwal, alongside representatives from UNESCO and various corporate leaders.
