Older women encouraged to take part in pageantry

Project Creator of Mother of Models International Limited, Jolly Nnenna Abani, has encouraged widows, divorcees and others above 40 years to take part in pageantry especially reality shows.

Abani, in a chat with select journalists yesterday in Abuja, explained that such shows would showcase their talents and ingenuity against societal and cultural limitations.

According to her, the desire to see women grow in their careers nudged her into organising a reality show for women who are above 40 years with the title: ’40 and Fabulous.’

She said: “An American Psychologist, Waller Pit Ken: Life begins at 40. This axiom has taken over today’s generation and people within this age bracket no longer allow age come in between them and the happiness.

“This philosophy triggered the mind and relive pixel of one intentional woman and she began to ask questions.

“Why should a 40 and above year old Africa woman retired baby factory, that has no need for social laxation and independent style?

“Why should a woman shut the door of her creativity or slaughter it on the altar of family management? All these questions and more will be answered in the 40 and fabulous TV reality show.

“This show is targeted at woman who are multi-talented but not sure of their career direction, it will also enable them regain back, what the hostile society has denied them, in terms of religions and ethnic responsibilities, family pressure and life balancing effect.

“Forty and Fabulous will make a strong statement, showing that the world can be properly entertained without an iota of nudity and promiscuity, which have characterized our recent reality shows.

“We are forty+, we are fabulous, we are creative and we are international womenfolk.

“Our objectives is to help the multi-tasking woman to chosen her right career amongst all her crafts:

“Create platform to help depressed women within the 40+ age bracket, Give emotional stability to women within 40+, who feels that their age is a barrier to their socio-economic growth.

“Empower the multi-talented women, improve the wellbeing of an average women, Capacity building for multi-talented woman, Cross breeding of talents and crafts among women who are creative and economic reward for their crafts and setting them up to self-dependency.”

She added: “During their one-month stay in the house, they receive training that stabilizes them emotionally. Experts are invited to coach and train these women, culminating in the award of a million naira to the winner.”

Also, a promoter of the show, Daniel Chukwueze, expressed chided the reluctance of some women to embrace initiatives aimed at empowering them.

He urged influential figures to endorse such endeavors, stressing their importance for societal progress and transformation.
