Olasunkanmi Owoyemi is a dynamic and forward-looking agricultural entrepreneur who, since he founded Sunbeth Global Concepts Limited in 2017, has rapidly transformed it into one of Nigeria’s leading agro-commodity exporters.
From a thriving family business, Sunny Owo Ventures, he drew inspiration and learned the ropes of cocoa trading.
With dual Bachelor’s degrees in Business Administration & Management from the University of Buckingham; and International Relations & Affairs from Afe Babalola University, as well as a Master’s degree in United Nations and Diplomatic Studies, Olasunkanmi Owoyemi combines academic strength, strategic insight, and a deep commitment to sustainability to reshape Nigeria’s agro-export landscape. Under his leadership, Sunbeth Global Concepts has achieved striking milestones, commanding a substantial share of Nigeria’s cocoa export trade.
Sunbeth Global Concept has exported well over 150,000 metric tonnes of raw cocoa beans to major chocolate manufacturers around the world. In 2024, it recorded exports worth 152 million dollars, making it Nigeria’s eighth-largest non-oil exporter.
Part of the success story of the company is that it maintains a wide network of more than 250 local buying agents and regional merchants to source raw materials efficiently across Nigeria. But beyond the figures, Olasunkanmi Owoyemi has placed sustainability, farmer empowerment, and ethical sourcing at the centre of his business.
Above all, he is a good example of young leadership in agribusiness, having turned a family start-up into an export powerhouse; combining profit with purpose, and helping advance Nigeria’s goal of reducing dependence on oil through sustainable agriculture.
Olasunkanmi Owoyemi is a winner of The Sun Entrepreneur of the Year Award 2025.
