Okorie urges army against reprisal

From Ogbonnaya Ndukwe, Aba

Founding National Chairman of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), Chief Chekwas Okorie, has appealed to the Nigerian Army not to allow reprisals over the killing of soldiers in Aba, Abia State by persons alleged to be enforcing the sit-at-home order of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB).

The prominent Igbo leader condemned the killing, saying it was unacceptable and dastardly. He noted that the heinous act was one too many, and could attract reprisals from the army high command, if not properly handled.

He expressed pain that in spite of what the Igbo are passing through in the hands of their detractors, some people would be bold to brazenly engage in such atrocious act in the name of enforcing sit-at-home, thereby exposing innocent people to danger of being hounded as the culprits in what they did not do. For Okorie, it was time for Ndigbo to think twice, and seek the face of God.
