Ogwuari Nsugbe Anambra community inaugurates new leadership

Newly elected Chairman, National Executive Committee of Ogwuari Nsugbe, Anambra East LGA, Anambra State, Pastor Lawrence Achuwa Ifejika has promised to work with his team to rewrite the history of Ogwuari people positively.

Pastor Achuwa who spoke yesterday during the inauguration of the national executives following their successful election noted that the joy radiating in the faces of all their people who trooped out in large numbers to witness the inauguration was as a result of happiness for the liberation they have achieved in the hands of some misguided people in the past who wanted to enslave them ,and keep them in perpetual bondage in order to exploit their resources for selfish ends.

He vowed that no one will take away the resources of Ogwuari people anymore because the people have collectively affirmed that enough is enough.

Achuwa also disclosed that the new executives have fulfilled the promise they made earlier during campaign to pay WAEC fees for seven indigent people in Ogwuari while they will also ensure that they actualised another promise of sponsoring seven others to travel abroad for further studies.

He appreciated the immediate past chairman, Okey Dibua for his mentorship and believing in him noting that it was Okey that first supported and projected him to be his successor before the elders, youths and other stakeholders accepted and gave him their blessings .

He pleaded for the support of the people of Ogwuari at large to help him in achieving their goals,

While inaugurating the elected executives, the Chairman, Anambra State Physical Planning Board, Barr. Chike Maduekwe, who was the chairman of the occasion , stated that electing the new executives of Ogwuari village Nsugbe under Pastor Achuwa’s leadership will make Ogwuari to be one homogeneous community in Anambra State.

He declared that henceforth good things shall happen in Ogwuari while the support of the youths will spur growth and development in the area.

He charged the new executive to always make sure that they embrace peace, harmony and progress, making sure that things that belong to Ogwuari are equitably shared by all Ogwuari members.

Barr. Maduekwe urged the executive to ensure that the voice of Ogwuari is heard positively in Anambra state and urged them to cue into Gov. Soludo’s objectives towards establishing a liveable and prosperous homeland.

The Commissioner for Youth Development, Mr. Patrick Agha-Mba, congratulated the new executive and the new land committee headed by Chibuzo Obalim, praying that God should give them wisdom to pilot the affairs of the village.

Agha-Mba commended the new chairman for putting the youths in the forefront of his manifesto and taking care of the youths need.

He urged them to work on a solid foundation to cue in what the state government is doing, which will make the people to watch Ogwuari and state government running a program in partnership instead of crisis every day.

He advised the new executive to make a solid foundation for the future of Ogwuari village in the next 20 years or more instead of selling off all the lands of Ogwuari.

Mrs Chito Etuke-Osili, Chairman, inauguration committee, and Acting Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Youth Development thanked Ogwuari people for their support and asked for their continued support to the new executive.

She said that the whole government paraphernalia gathered for the inauguration while a legal practitioner also administered oath of office on the executives to show that the leadership has a solid backing.

She called on trouble makers to desist henceforth remanding them that Ogwuari now has a leadership while the era of crisis and unnecessary litigations are gone for good.

Others elected officials who were also inaugurated included Mr Osita Obalum as Vice Chairman, Pastor Nnamdi Okoye as Financial Secretary, Tochukwu Nwaegbo as secretary and Uchenna Mbamali as Assistant Secretary, Chukwunonso Okafor was elected the Treasurer, Ellias Obiagwu as Public Relations Officer and Ifeanyi Obiekwe as Provost.

The inauguration ceremony was attended by many illustrious sons and daughters of Nsugbe community, Nsugbe council of elders, Umuada na Inyom Ogwuari, leadership of Nsugbe Youths and that of Ogwuari Nsugbe, among others.

The Anambra State Chairman, National Youth Council of Nigeria, Mr. Emeka Obi, was also present at the event which featured Ijele, Asuwu and Ogolo masquerade displays which all added colour and carnival like-mood for the ceremony.
