…says students must champion responsible citizenship
The Ogun State Commissioner for Housing, Hon. Jagunmolu Akande Omoniyi, has expressed his support for the Yayi Student Vanguard (YSV) while charging its members to uphold responsible citizenship and positive values as they continue to promote the vision and political aspiration of Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola (Yayi).
The commissioner gave the charge when the leadership of YSV, led by its Convener, Comrade James Olanose Jame, paid him a courtesy visit to formally present the team, appreciate his contributions to the student community in Ogun State and share the activities and impact of the movement so far.
During the visit, Olanose highlighted the various initiatives and engagements undertaken by YSV, including educational support, student mobilisation, empowerment programmes, voter registration advocacy and other activities aimed at promoting youth participation and development across Ogun State.
He also expressed the team’s appreciation to the commissioner for his consistent support and commitment to the development of students and young people in the state.
Responding, Jagunmolu welcomed the YSV delegation and commended the team for its efforts.
He reaffirmed his willingness to support the movement and encouraged its members to see themselves first as responsible citizens and future leaders.
He particularly advised the students to shun cultism, violence, drug abuse and other social vices capable of destroying the future of young people.
He urged YSV to use its platform to educate and positively influence fellow students and youths while maintaining discipline and peaceful engagement.
As Ogun State gradually approaches the 2027 general elections, Jagunmolu further encouraged the team to embrace peaceful political participation, issue-based advocacy and responsible mobilisation while continuing to propagate the vision of Senator Yayi.
The YSV leadership appreciated the commissioner for his warm reception, valuable counsel and renewed commitment to supporting the student community.
Olanose reaffirmed the movement’s resolve to continue promoting the vision, leadership and political aspiration of Senator Adeola (Yayi) through peaceful, responsible and constructive youth engagement as the state prepares for the 2027 general elections.
The visit further strengthened YSV’s commitment to building a movement that combines political mobilisation with responsible citizenship, education, youth development and positive community impact.
