Dr. Sekinat Oyebamiji, wife of the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate, yesterday led a high-powered delegation to the popular Orisunmbare Market in Osogbo for intensive voter education ahead of Saturday’s election in Osun State.
She was joined by former Osun State First Lady Mrs. Kafayat Oyetola, former Deputy Governor Mrs. Titilayo Ponle, the wife of the deputy governorship candidate Princess Adebukola Adereti, APC Women Leader Alhaja Kudirat Fakokunde, and other prominent party leaders.
The engagement drew massive crowds of market leaders, traders, and local residents eager to interact with the campaign team.
Addressing the cheering traders, Dr. Oyebamiji expressed confidence in the market community’s backing, noting that the visit felt like a homecoming.
“This market is a home for us. You are all familiar with AMBO [Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji] and his agenda for our dear state..
“I was told that market women in Orisunmbare would not support us, but I refuted the claim. Now, I am even more confident that you are with us after inviting us here to canvass and educate you on where to vote. I am confident that our ‘PROPER’ agenda will heavily accommodate women and traders, because we cannot talk about prosperity without you,” Dr. Oyebamiji said
She urged the traders to work assiduously for an electoral landslide, advising them to mobilize at least six additional voters each to ensure a massive turnout at the polls on Saturday. She also cautioned them to remain peaceful and ignore political propaganda.
Demonstrating how to properly cast a ballot, former First Lady Mrs. Kafayat Oyetola walked the traders through a specimen ballot paper.
“You will not see the picture of AMBO on the ballot paper, but you will see the APC and its logo. Vote for us, and I can assure you that you will not regret it,” Mrs. Oyetola explained.
Earlier in the program, the Babaloja of Orisunmbare Market, Chief Qamarudeen Adeoti, assured the APC delegation of the traders’ total support, alleging that the incumbent administration has failed to meet the expectations of the business community.
