A coalition of stakeholders within the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) in Anambra North Senatorial District has defended former Aviation Minister and Senator representing Anambra North, Stella Oduah, describing recent allegations against her as politically motivated and aimed at weakening her growing influence within the party.
The group, operating under the banner of Anambra North Stakeholders For Good Governance, accused unnamed political opponents of orchestrating what it called a coordinated media campaign and petition drive against the former senator ahead of future political contests in the state.
In a statement jointly signed by Chief Akosa Umeano and Afam Chukwura in Awka, the coalition maintained that Senator Oduah had never been convicted of any criminal offence by any court in Nigeria, contrary to claims circulating in some quarters.
The stakeholders referenced proceedings at the FCT High Court, presided over by Justice Hamza Muazu on March 26, 2026, and stated that Senator Oduah and Gloria Odita were discharged and acquitted after the Director of Public Prosecutions amended the charges and substituted two companies as defendants in the matter.
The group stressed: “At no point did the court convict Senator Stella Oduah. At no point did the court pronounce her guilty, and no criminal liability was established against her personally.”
The coalition also rejected claims that the former senator pleaded guilty on behalf of the companies involved in the case, insisting that company representatives entered the pleas as reflected in the court proceedings.
TDescribing attempts to portray the outcome as a personal conviction as “false, deceptive, and politically mischievous,” the stakeholders argued that allegations and petitions should not be mistaken for proof of wrongdoing under Nigerian law.

The group further addressed allegations relating to Senator Oduah’s academic records and National Youth Service Corps documentation, noting that she had contested and served two terms in the Senate after undergoing constitutional screening processes by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), security agencies, and other relevant institutions.
“No court has ever found her guilty of falsification, forgery, or perjury,” the statement added.
The coalition alleged that the renewed attacks were connected to Senator Oduah’s rising political profile within Anambra North and her perceived electoral strength ahead of future contests.
According to the stakeholders, Senator Oduah remained “one of the strongest political figures in the zone,” citing her grassroots structure, political experience, and electoral value.
They also called on Governor Chukwuma Soludo to disregard what they described as politically driven calls for the former senator’s disqualification, while urging the All Progressives Grand Alliance not to allow itself to be used as an instrument for political witch-hunt.
The group insisted that APGA should remain committed to justice, fairness, and constitutional principles rather than “media trials and politically engineered petitions.”
Reaffirming its support for Senator Oduah, the coalition said the people of Anambra North were capable of distinguishing between genuine accountability and political persecution.
