The Cross River State Government has paid five months’ salary arrears owed to workers at the Obudu Ranch Resort.
The payment followed a peaceful protest by the workers on July 1 over the unpaid wages.
The Special Adviser to the Governor on Obudu Ranch Resort, Sunday Michael, said salary alerts began dropping on Wednesday after Governor Bassey Otu approved the payment. Outstanding allowances were also paid.
“From last night, staff started receiving alerts. The mood at the Ranch this morning is one of joy, gratitude, and renewed hope,” Michael said.
“His Excellency did not just make a promise, he acted immediately. This is leadership that listens and leadership that cares.”
