• Urges contending ethnic groups to remain calm and allow government agencies address ward delineation issues

As part of the activities to mark its 2nd year anniversary, Delta state Governor, Elder Sheriff Oborevwori, yesterday commissioned several projects in Warri South Local Government area, to elevate the living standards of residents of the oil rich city.

Some of the projects include: Intra-city roads, with standard drainages and street lights in strategic locations in the area, notably, Upper Erejuwa, Reconstruction of General Hospital Road with a spur to Police Command Road among other projects.

Speaking at Commissioning of the Upper Erejuwa road, Elder Oborevwori, admonished the various ethnic groups on the need to be more tolerant and live in harmony with one another for the purposes of attracting investments that would enhance the development of the area.

Reacting on the issue of the ward delineation which had been a subject of controversy, he urged them not to allow selfish or parochial interest becloud their sense of reasoning, adding the God that brought them together to live in the same area did not make any mistakes.

According to him: “For now, I want to appeal to everyone to sheath their sword and allow the status-quo to remain while the appropriate government agencies are allowed to carry out due diligence on the concerns raised by the various ethnic groups on the matter.”

The various projects commissioned include: 10.9km length of roads, 9.03km length of drains of Upper and Lower Erejuwa road, Warri, in Warri South LGA, Reconstruction of General Hospital Road with a spur to Police Command Road from Warri/Sapele Road to Ajamimogha/Mabiaku link road, Warri.

Reconstruction of Esisi road from Warri/Sapele Road to Estate roundabout with a spur to Nana College road to link Ajamimogha road, Construction of Ogunu (Agogo community main road and internal roads of Ogunu community in Warri South LGA.

Others are: rehabilitation/Asphalt overlay of road from Ogunu bridge to Shell gate in Warri South LGA, and Rehabilitation/Asphalt overlay of Princess Abaje/Mike Dottie Street/Isaac Boyosan and creek view layout road in Ugbuwangue, Warri South LGA.

As well as the Construction of Ope Street with a spur to Omeme Street in Warri South LGA.
