OAU students protest VC’s remand in prison

Free-Elujoba-2

Students of Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, Osun State, are currently protesting at the High Court of Justice, in Ede, over the arraignment of the Vice Chancellor of the institution Prof. Anthony Elujoba.

The protest commenced after Justice David Oladimeji asked that Prof. Elujoba be remanded in Ilesha prison pending the ruling of the application for bail of himself and the Bursar of the school.  Mrs. Ronke Akeredolu, on July 19.

The EFCC opposed the application for bail for the two defendants a decision which got the students and workers angry.

They argued that they would not leave the court unless Professor Elujoba is released on bail and began to mob anyone believed to be loyal to the former VC, Professor Bamitale Omole.

Elujoba and the bursar are facing 7 counts on alleged misappropriation of funds and abuse of office.
