The National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN), Enugu State Chapter, has commended the Federal Commissioner representing Enugu State at the Federal Character Commission (FCC), Hon. Peter Ogbonna Eze for his contributions to youth empowerment, human capital development and equitable access to opportunities.

In a statement on Friday signed by the Chairman of the Council, Comrade Barth Ebuka Okoh, the NYCN praised Eze for leveraging his position at the Federal Character Commission to create significant opportunities for young people across Enugu State.

the Council said a considerable number of Enugu youths had secured federal employment opportunities through initiatives associated with the FCC, while others had benefited from overseas programmes, seminars, workshops, professional training and other capacity-building initiatives designed to enhance their skills, knowledge and competitiveness.

According to the youth body, the interventions have had a transformative impact on beneficiaries by opening new pathways for career advancement, strengthening their capacity and restoring confidence among young people in the possibility of achieving their aspirations through legitimate opportunities.

The NYCN described the development as a demonstration of purposeful and people-oriented leadership, noting that the scale of opportunities accessed by Enugu youths through the office of the Federal Character Commission under Eze represents a significant milestone.

The council further commended the Federal Commissioner for what it described as his commitment to fairness, transparency and equal access to opportunities, saying his approach had reinforced the belief that merit, competence and hard work could provide a pathway to success irrespective of political connections.

“Hon. Peter Eze has given hope to countless young people by proving that one does not need a political godfather to access opportunities and excel. His accessibility, fairness and unwavering commitment to empowering ordinary youths have earned him the admiration and gratitude of the people,” the statement said.

The NYCN Chairman expressed the Council’s appreciation to Eze for what he described as his selfless service, benevolence and sustained commitment to the welfare and advancement of young people in Enugu State.

Comrade Okoh, on behalf of the National Youth Council of Nigeria, Enugu State Chapter, and the youth population of the state, prayed for continued divine blessings, wisdom, strength and good health for the Federal Commissioner.

He also expressed the hope that Eze would be granted greater opportunities to continue contributing to the development of Enugu State and Nigeria, particularly through initiatives that expand access to employment, skills development and other opportunities for young people.
