Ebonyi State Governor, Francis Nwifuru has suspended Commissioner for Water Resources, Magnus Nkah indefinitely.
Nkah was suspended following a petition against him by some members of Ukawu and Ishiagu communities in the state over the looting of the two mega water schemes in the communities which have been in moribund conditions until the state government started reactivating them.
The two water schemes – Ukawu and Ishiagu water – were constructed by the past administration in the state.
The current administration procured materials for their reactivation but the.materials were looted, forcing the governor to wield the big stick against the Commissioner for Water Resources, Nkah.
The Commissioner has handed over all government properties in his possession to the Permanent Secretary of the ministry in line with the governor’s directive.
Daily Sun learned that some arrests has been made over the looting of the water schemes with a committee set up to investigate the looting.
