The biggest and most prestigious domestic scrabble competition in Nigeria – the NSF Scrabble Festival 2025 has been scheduled to hold from the April 11 to 17.
The Nigeria Scrabble Federation (NSF), made this known in a statement pushed out on in Abuja.
The four-in-one, Scrabble Festival will be staged in the ancient and iconic city of Benin, Edo State, South-South, Nigeria and over 25 states of the Federation are expected to attend the event which was last staged at the Rolak Hotel & Suites, Ijebu-Ode, Ogun State, South-West, Nigeria in 2024.
Participants are expected to touch down in Benin City, the Culture and Art capital of Nigeria on April 10.
The Aspha Zadok National Championship, one of the four events that make up the Scrabble Festival bouquet begins on the 11th and ends on the 13th when the NSF Green Jacket winner will emerge.
Lagos State’s Enoch Nwali is the current holder of the revered NSF Green Jacket.
On Monday April 13, the Annual General Meeting (AGM), of the Nigeria Scrabble Federation will take the centre stage.
The AGM provides a turnkey platform for stakeholders in the scrabble fraternity to formulate polices, projects and programs that will accelerate the growth of the sport.
After the AGM on the 14th, the NSF Inter Club Challenge which is open to all the Scrabble Clubs in Nigeria will run from the 15th to the 17th of April. Pyramid SC of Lagos under the stewardship of Engineer Dipo Akanbi, are the defending champions of the competition.
The thrilling and exciting week long Scrabble Festival will be brought to a befitting close with the NSF Awards and Gala Night, on Thursday April 17, 2025.
