NOG Energy Week 2026 is poised to become a turning point in Africa’s energy transformation, as industry leaders aim to “advance energy ambitions for competitive & resilient economies” through stronger investment, partnerships and project delivery.
The milestone 25th edition of the conference will hold from 5–9 July 2026 at the Bola Tinubu International Conference Centre in Abuja, bringing together policymakers, financiers and energy executives to translate dialogue into bankable projects across Africa’s energy markets.
“For a quarter of a century, NOG Energy Week has been the platform where policy direction, capital and industry capability converge to move projects forward,” organisers said. This year’s theme, “Advancing Energy Ambitions for Competitive & Resilient Economies,” reflects a stronger focus on execution rather than policy discussions alone. “We are focused on translating dialogue into bankable delivery across Africa’s energy markets,” organisers added.
The event comes at a time of renewed policy momentum across the continent. The unveiling of the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited Gas Master Plan 2026 signals a shift from strategy to implementation, targeting increased gas production, large-scale investment mobilisation and expansion across gas-to-power, LPG and industrial feedstock value chains.
“These production and investment targets are already reshaping commercial conversations and opening nearer-term pathways for offtake and project finance,” industry stakeholders noted.
Regional cooperation is also advancing, with the trans-West Africa export vision — including the African Atlantic Gas Pipeline — gaining diplomatic and feasibility momentum as governments pursue intergovernmental agreements and route studies.
The Strategic Conference’s Executive Committee (ExCo) will steer programme design, drawing expertise from across Africa’s energy ecosystem. Members include senior industry figures such as Engr. Bayo Bashir Ojulari, GCEO of NNPC Ltd; Proscovia Nabbanja, CEO of Uganda National Oil Company; Jim Swartz, Chairman & MD of Chevron Nigeria Mid-Africa Business Unit; Dr. Ainojie ‘Alex’ Irune of Oando Energy Resources; and Tony Attah of Renaissance Africa Energy Company Limited. Multilateral institutions including the World Bank and African Development Bank will also contribute technical and financing perspectives.
Early confirmations also highlight the event’s diplomatic weight. Nigeria’s Ministers of State for Petroleum Resources, Sen. Heineken Lokpobiri (Oil) and Rt. Hon. Ekperikpe Ekpo (Gas), will attend alongside Uganda’s Energy Minister Dr. Canon Ruth Nankabirwa Ssentamu. Diplomatic delegations from Germany, Argentina, Morocco, Tanzania and Zambia have also confirmed participation, along with regulators such as NUPRC, NMDPRA and NCDMB.
Programme discussions will focus on converting policy commitments into investable energy projects, strengthening cross-border infrastructure, and designing financing models that reduce investment risk. Attention will also be given to upstream development opportunities and the strategic role of export pipelines in improving Africa’s energy security and global competitiveness.
The event will feature a B2B2G Strategic Conference, international exhibition, technical seminars, leadership roundtables, deals lounges and networking sessions aimed at accelerating partnerships and market development across the continent’s energy sector.
