“No gree for terrorists,” DHQ tells Nigerians

The Defence Headquarters has called on Nigerians to continue to support the armed forces and security agencies and prevent terrorists, bandits, kidnappers and other criminals from having their way free in 2024.

This comes as the DHQ announced that it has killed scores of terrorists and arrested several others trying to operate in Bwari Area Council in the Federal Capital Territory(FCT), and other parts of the nation’s capital.

Director of Defence Media Operations Major General Edward Buba, who made this known at a media briefing in Abuja, said the arrested terrorists who are now in custody, are helping investigators with vital informations that is already yielding positive results to rid the FCT and the surrounding states of terrorists and bandits.

He called on the public to be security conscious and report criminal activities, suspicious movements and objects in their environments to security agencies, even as he assured that the military would take action on such tip-offs.

At a media briefing held at the DHQ, conference room, Gen Buba, mimicking the popular slang on the social media “no gree for anybody”, which is currently trending among youths as slang for the year, said “Make Nigerians no gree for terrorists this year. You see something, you say something and we assure them of doing something”.

He said the “no gree for terrorists“ slogan has become necessary for all Nigerians to stop the activities of terrorists and other criminal groups disturbing the peace of the country.

The DMO, spokesman who assured that the military is more determined to end insecurity in the country, “the aim of the military in 2024 is to locate and destroy the terrorists wherever they were hiding.

“The aim of our ongoing operations remains unchanged and clear even in the new year 2024. We aim to find and destroy the terrorist wherever they may be hiding to ensure their enduring defeat. This would deny the terrorist the ability to terrorize or hurt citizens across the country.

“Our operations indicate that we are hunting the terrorist commanders and their senior leadership. Indeed, from their topmost leadership to the lowest commanders are dead men walking and we will stop at nothing until they are dead or surrender,” Gen Buba assured.
