A South East union, under the aegis of Igbo Community Association in Abuja, has called for a political solution to the life imprisonment of the Leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu.
Its President General, Ikenna Ellis-Ezenekwe, at a press briefing, yesterday, in Abuja, said the sentencing of Kanu to life imprisonment would not solve the problem bedeviling the Southeast region.
“We are demanding a political solution to the matter. That is the only way we can solve this problem of Nnamdi Kanu,” he said.
Meanwhile, Ellis-Ezenekwe, head of the February 2026 Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC) chairmanship polls, Igbo Community Association in Abuja, has settled for the Social Democratic Party (SDP) candidate, Obinna Simon, popularly known as MC Tagwaye.
