A Director in Nigeria Nationwide League One (NLO), Ebere Amaraizu, has applauded the home-based Super Eagles for recording their first victory at the on-going 2018 African Nations Championship (CHAN).
The home-based Super Eagles edged out Libya by a lone goal through Sunday Faleye in their CHAN Group C match at the Stade Ibn Batouta in Tangier, Morocco on Friday.
Amaraizu, who made the commendation while addressing newsmen on Sunday in Enugu, said that the win was expected as the team was highly resilient, although it played out a draw in its first match with Rwanda. He said: “I see the Super Eagles topping Group C at the end of the group stage as the players are hungry for victory. Looking at the match closely, you will observe that the Libyans were also highly determined to get a point from the game.
“However, the Nigerian-side showed a lot of tactical superiority to the Libyans though the match ended 1 – 0 in favour of the Super Eagles,” he said predicting that the Nigeria side would get to the finals, “if they continue on this tactical discipline they have now.”
With the victory, the Super Eagles is now on the top of the group with four points from two games played so far, after being held to a goalless draw against the Amavubi of Rwanda in their first game.
