The National Welfare Secretary of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), Donatus Nwankpa has assured that Nigerians would soon start benefitting from the economic policy of the President Bola Tinubu led administration.

Nwankpa who gave the assurance in Umuahia, Abia State, when the state chapter of the party organized a reception in his honour, said Tinubu was trying to tackle the problems of Nigeria head-on.

He stated it was in the process of correcting the ills of the past that the president removed the fuel subsidy, adding that the hardship Nigerians were facing now as a result of that, would soon give way to economic prosperity.

“The only snare in the economic policy of the present administration is the removal of fuel subsidy that has temporarily brought hardship to the people, but I assure you with time, Nigerians will start getting the benefits.”

He said if Tinubu could turn Lagos around when he was governor of the state, in the same token, he would fix the problems of Nigeria.

The APC National Welfare Secretary expressed optimism that the price of fuel would soon come down.

Nwankpa who was the immediate past chairman of the APC in Abia, said there was no division in the state chapter of the party, adding that no single person could claim sole leadership of the party in Abia.

He said the task before him and other leaders of the party in the state was to have a friendly and United party that would win elections in the state.

“There’s no one person that is sole administrator in Abia APC, we believe in collective leadership; we operate a collegiate leadership system in Abia APC.

“APC in Abia will no longer be in the hands of one man and there will be no more time for segregation, we have to reach out to all our members to move the party forward.”

He commended President Tinubu, Gov Hope Uzodinma of Imo State, Senator Orji Uzor Kalu, Hon Nkiruka Onyejeocha and others for making it possible for him to be the national welfare secretary of the party.

He promised that Abia APC would do all within its power to ensure that Uzodinma was returned as governor of Imo state in the November governorship election.
