Popular sports broadcast journalist, Temisan Okomi is dead.
It was learnt that the media personality died after a brief illness.
His employer, Classic FM 97.3 confirmed his death in an Instagram post.
“With the heaviest of hearts, we regret to announce the passing of one of our staff, Temisan Okomi, following a brief illness.
“Until his passing, Temisan was the Group Head of the Sports Department,” the radio station said.
SunOnline can report that Okomi previously had stints at Lagos Television, HiTV, and other media organisations.
Many friends and fans of the journalist have taken to social media, especially X, to mourn his passing.
Nollywood actress, Kate Henshaw wrote, “I promised myself this year to focus more on positive thoughts. To ignore evil (and) negative energy as much as possible because this life……
“A dear friend has passed on & I am more determined to keep my word to myself.
“Rest on in peace @temiokomi
“I will miss our banter.”
A colleague at News Central, Olawale Adigun wrote, “The worst way to go into the weekend is hearing about Temisan Okomi’s passing. I’m so gutted and, at the same time, terrified. This man meant so much to me.”
Ufuoma Egbamuno wrote, “Too numb to even say anything.
“Bros, as I always called him, was a real one.
“Too real!!!”
Japheth Omojuwa wrote, “Temisan Okomi was full of life. He was intentional about putting young people on and he played his part in helping to get a number of people’s careers started who have themselves gone on to do some extraordinary things.
“Life is what it is. He lived a full life and was never shy of taking a stand whenever he needed to.
“His passing comes as a rude shock.”
