The Bola Ahmed Tinubu Ideological Group (BAT-IG) has promised to intensify grassroots mobilisation, political education and policy advocacy, following its recognition as an official support group of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

The group said its registration by the APC’s national secretariat would strengthen its capacity to promote President Bola Tinubu’s political philosophy, policies and Renewed Hope agenda across the country.

The recognition was conveyed through a letter dated October 20, accompanied by a certificate of registration issued by the party’s national secretariat.

In a statement by its National Convener, Bamidele Atoyebi, the group said the recognition had placed greater responsibility on it to advance the party’s ideals and strengthen its engagement at the grassroots.

“For BAT-IG, this is more than a certificate or an official endorsement. It is an encouragement and pedestal to do more, reach more people and deepen our commitment to the political ideals and development vision that inspired the establishment of the group,” it said.

The group said its activities would focus on constructive political engagement, ideological orientation, grassroots participation and policy advocacy, particularly in promoting understanding of the policies and programmes of the Tinubu administration.

It added: “We remain committed to upholding the legacy of President Bola Tinubu through constructive political engagement, ideological orientation, grassroots participation, policy advocacy and the promotion of purposeful leadership across Nigeria.”

The group also identified political education and leadership development as important components of its activities, saying its objective was to build an ideologically grounded movement that goes beyond political support.

It commended its coordinators across the six geopolitical zones, states, local governments and wards for their contributions to its expansion and mobilisation efforts.

It particularly acknowledged Atoyebi’s leadership in building the group and sustaining its activities.

On its relationship with the APC, the group pledged to operate within the party’s established framework.

“We, therefore, reaffirm our commitment to operating in accordance with the APC’s constitution, guidelines and directives, while maintaining the discipline, unity and organisational values expected of a recognised support group,” the statement added.

The group also expressed appreciation to the APC’s national chairman, Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda and the party’s leadership, for granting it official recognition.
