From Romanus Ugwu, Abuja
Nigerian youths across party lines have declared massive support for the re-election of President Bola Tinubu for the forthcoming 2027 presidential election.
They hinged their support on the ongoing economic and structural reforms under President Tinubu’s administration, emphasising that it must be consolidated through leadership continuity.
The youth-driven movement, under the auspices of Renewed Hope Agenda Continuity Marshals (REHACMA), led by its National Coordinator, Osawemwenhio Uwagboe, argued that Nigeria requires stability and consistent policy direction to fully realise the gains of the Renewed Hope Agenda.
Leaders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) at all levels equally endorsed President Tinubu for re-election in the next year’s poll.
Uwagboe stated: “Today, we stand here not just as members of one political party, but as young Nigerians from different political backgrounds who believe in one thing and that is that Nigeria must move forward.
“Across the country, young people are watching closely. We are observing leadership. We are observing courage. We are observing responsibility. And many of us have come to one clear conclusion: Nigeria needs stability in leadership and continuity of progressive reforms. That is why REHACMA was formed.
“REHACMA is not just a campaign organisation. It is a movement of responsible young Nigerians who believe that governance should be supported when it is moving the nation forward. For us in REHACMA, when it comes to the future of Nigeria, politics should not blind us to leadership that is working.
“We believe that President Tinubu represents the experience, courage and political capacity required to guide Nigeria through difficult reforms and long-term transformation.
“We believe that progress is the only option and we are committed to working towards it. One unique thing about this movement is that our members come from different political backgrounds, but we are united by one common belief: Nigeria will progress and prosper under the leadership of President Tinubu.”
In his remarks, REHACMA National Youth Leader, Yusuf Ishaya, stated that Nigeria is making steady progress under President Tinubu’s leadership and called on youths across the country to unite in support of the President.

He stated: “I have been a member of the ADC and I have decided to align myself with the APC because I have seen progress. He who sees progress should not sit by the side and wait to be told that it is progress.
“You know progress when you see it. So, my advice to others is that they should come and align themselves and support President Tinubu because it is the best thing for Nigeria to move the country forward.”
On her part, REHACMA Women Leader, Fatima Lamisula, emphasised that four years is insufficient to steer the nation out of its longstanding challenges, adding that given the visible progress so far, President Tinubu should be granted more time to consolidate his efforts.
She stated: “I also believe that the reward for good work is more work. Nigeria has been in troubled waters for a very long time. I do not think we can fix this in just four years. Since someone is here trying to fix it for us and we have seen visible changes in the three years he has been in power, I believe we should give President Tinubu another chance for continuity so he can finish what he has started.”
In the same vein, the REHACMA North Central Coordinator, Jerry Gwom, stated that President Tinubu’s reforms were beginning to produce tangible and noticeable outcomes.
He stated: “Well, for the government of Bola Tinubu, we can clearly see the progress this administration has made. First, by floating the dollar. Previously, we used to have selective overnight billionaires who simply went to the Central Bank and had access to dollars. But today, the dollar has been floated. Anybody can go to the bank and access dollars.
“We also talk about fuel subsidy, which was a system built to enrich particular Nigerians. Today, the market is open. Anybody can venture into that business and flourish.
“We can also see inclusiveness in this government. In the North Central, we have been clamouring over marginalisation. Many governments have come and gone. But in this government of Tinubu, as a youth, I feel carried along. From my region, the North Central, I also feel that we are included in this administration.
“Regarding the dominance of the older generation, people usually say that the youth are the leaders of tomorrow. But today, we have full inclusivity in this government and we feel part of it.
“We want this government to continue because we are assured that after his tenure in 2027, power will be handed over to the likes of us; to our generation,” Gwom said.
