Nigerian-born Canadian musician Babatunde Kolawole Adewole, known by his stage name S.C.U.D. (/Skord/), has announced plans to release a new seven-track EP titled Late Bloomer in the summer of 2025.
Describing the forthcoming project, S.C.U.D. said, “This project is my turning point. Late Bloomer is how I say goodbye to my struggles and step into a new era, not just as an artist but as a music executive and culture builder.”
The EP, produced by his frequent collaborator Kaypiano, follows S.C.U.D.’s 2023 rebranding and release of the dual single Attical Sounds, which includes the tracks “Palava” and “Celebrate.” The music video for “Celebrate” premiered on VEVO on January 1, 2024. In mid-2024, he released “Legit,” which also featured a performance video on YouTube’s Unreel Session channel.
Late Bloomer will include tracks such as “Intro,” “1000 Ways,” “Glory,” and “Sexy.” It features guest vocals from Mitche on “Sexy” and Bolde on the closing track “Activate.” “Glory” and “Legit” have already been released as singles with videos available on major platforms.
S.C.U.D. has also been active in live music circuits, performing at events like Manitoba Music’s New Music Night. In September 2024, he opened for Nigerian artist Odumodublvck in Winnipeg during the latter’s Canadian tour.
In addition to his work as a recording artist, S.C.U.D. is involved in the business side of music. He is the Principal Partner of Attical Sounds and heads Attical Global Entertainment Services Co., which focuses on mentorship and artist development.
He is currently working on his debut album, also scheduled for release in 2025.
