The Energy Commission of Nigeria (ECN), under the leadership of its Director-General, Dr. Abdullahi Mustapha, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with UNIDACO Limited, London, for an initial €100 million investment aimed at boosting Nigeria’s energy sector.
The signing ceremony took place at the House of Lords, London, during the Renewed Hope Global Dialogue (UK Edition) — a platform dedicated to advancing international collaboration under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
In a statement released to journalists in Abuja, Dr. Mustapha described the agreement as a “major milestone in advancing Nigeria’s clean energy transition,” emphasizing that the partnership would strengthen Nigeria’s capacity to harness renewable energy technologies while expanding access to sustainable power solutions.

The MoU was signed in the presence of prominent dignitaries, investors, and industry leaders from Nigeria and around the world.
According to Dr. Mustapha, the collaboration marks a significant step toward deepening global partnerships that will accelerate Nigeria’s energy transformation. He reaffirmed the Commission’s resolve to build an inclusive, energy-secure, and prosperous nation anchored on innovation and international cooperation.
