From Sylvanus Viashima, Jalingo

Taraba State Governor Dr Agbu Kefas on Saturday urged Christians to use the occasion of this year’s Easter to intensify prayers for the state and Nigeria at large.

The Governor who disclosed this in an Easter message singed by Honorable Emmanuel Bello, the SA Media and Digital Communication to the Governor noted that the country is in a state of both economic and security turmoil and the season is apt for prayers to God for solutions.

He describes Easter as a season of great lessons for humanity and urged Nigerians to emulate the virtues of Christ that define Easter for the good of humanity.

“This season calls for a deeper reflection on the virtues of sacrifice and selfless service to humanity and Christians must imbibe the teachings of Jesus Christ whose entire life, death and resurrection speaks to the qualities of long suffering and victory in the face of daunting challenges.

“This year’s Easter is coming at a time the country is undergoing all sorts of crisis from the economy to security issues. At no time do we need prayers and selflessness more than now. Let me call on all Christians to live out those virtues both at home and the workplace.

“Let me once again assure the state of my continued commitment to a better life, especially in the provision of infrastructure and qualitative education. Security agencies are on top the challenge of safeguarding life and properties during the festive seasons and we would give them all the support needed to have a hitch free celebration” Kefas said.
