The Atayero of Aramoko kingdom, in Ekiti State, Dr Olusegun Aderemi, has said that Nigeria needs the intervention of God to overcome her current challenges, calling on Christians and adherents of other faiths to pray fervently for the country to enthrone a positive turnaround.

Dr Aderemi made the remarks at Aramoko-Ekiti, his country home while speaking with newsmen on a 3-day Ekiti For Christ Crusade to be led by Gospel Evangelist, Dr. Rodney Howard-Browne, from New York.

The crusade, which is a maiden edition, will hold between September 5th to 7th in Aramoko-Ekiti, in collaboration with the Christian Association of Nigeria(CAN), Ekiti State led by its Chairman, Rev. Dr Emmanuel Aribasoye.

Stressing the importance of prayer, Dr Aderemi said it is a means to induce the presence of God in any situation.

“In Nigeria, we need prayer and prayer is the answer. What is happening everywhere now has gone beyond the comprehension of the drivers of the economy. What we need is just God’s intervention. Let Him intervene in all our problems.”

On what informed the decision to hold the crusade and why Aramoko-Ekiti was the choice place, he said,

“When you don’t have solution to a problem you call on Almighty God to give you a way and that is what we are doing in the programme and I will want that to start from Aramoko-Ekiti, to all the local governments in Ekiti State and go to all the 36 States in Nigeria including the Federal Capital Territory ( FCT). We need God to intervene in the affairs of this country.

“The programme is for everybody, because what is happening is not the problem of one person, it is a general problem, so let everybody in Ekiti, and other States come out for the programme and pray to God for a way out of all these problems. I believe right from the programme and after, heaven will open, God will show us mercy and there will be showers of blessings and light will shine.”

Commenting on the military takeover in Niger Republic, he said, “What is happening in Niger Republic is a big challenge and that also needs prayers.

“One thing has led to the other. That particular country was under military rule before they decided to embrace democratic rule. Democracy was truncated because of a reason, and now they are saying military rule again, so, there is a problem somewhere.

“That kind of problem we don’t pray it happens here and I am happy I am bringing Dr. Howard-Browne
here this time to pray because we don’t want what has happened in Niger Republic to happen here.

“So, this special crusade here is to take care of that and for God to see us and to hear our prayers for better things, better days to come.”

Sharing his thoughts on the current exchange rates and the hike in the price of fuel occasioned by the subsidy removal, he said, they are disturbing but Nigerians should not perceive these as deliberate action of the president.

“On the exchange rates and the price of fuel, these are disturbing. It is not that the president himself wanted this problem to happen or deliberately hiked the price of fuel, but there are circumstances beyond his control. So, it is the Almighty God that can show us a way.”

The Atayero, who is the host of the 3- day crusade said the programme will feature the distribution of palliatives to people that will attend and empowerment for widows and wives of men of God.

He also said that there will be free food for all in the programme and the people should come with faith and God will prove Himself.

“For those number of days, they will eat, they will drink and go home with packages. They should come with faith and they will go home with salvation, healing, deliverance, blessings and much more.”

He noted that the crusade will host traditional rulers within and outside the state, government officials and personalities from other nations and there will be Business fellowship, where business men would be trained on interpreneurship, a form of enterprise whereby an individual with business idea use to attract other business people”
According to him, in interpreneurship, business ideas are shared together, risks, funding and gains are shared together.”

The Atayero added that Dr. Howard-Browne who would be visiting Africa, Nigeria first for his point of call, would train people on how to run businesses in a Godly way, saying, ” the business that has the hand of God in it is one that succeeds “
