Archbishop Emmanuel Musa Jatau, Ph.D. has said Nigeria has what it takes to be better in many ways than it is right now, but because we are divided across ethnic and religious lines and are insincere with ourselves, we remain where we are today.
Bishop Jatau told members of the Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN) Nasarawa Chapter during an interaction on Monday, at Faith Hill Prophetic Assembly in Abuja.
The Sun Reports that the newly elected leadership of the Nasarawa State Chapter of SWAN visited the Archbishop as part of their efforts to strengthen collaborations with stakeholders beyond the state’s borders.
Reflecting on his experiences, the Archbishop highlighted the flaws in Nigeria’s education system by comparing it to that of Cameroon. “What is taught in Nigerian secondary schools is what Cameroonian primary schools cover,” he noted, calling for a comprehensive overhaul of the system.
The discussion also touched on key national issues such as insecurity, infrastructure, and sports. Archbishop Jatau emphasized the need for a state of emergency in these critical areas to spur rapid development. He urged sports journalists to use their platforms to promote grassroots sports and foster unity, stating that “sports has become the unifying factor in the world today.”
Archbishop Jatau, who is also the Director of Pan-African Universities, West Africa Region, expressed his gratitude for the honor bestowed on him by the association, encouraging the executives to justify the trust placed in them by their peers.
Archbishop Jatau, a distinguished native of Agyaragu in Obi Local Government Area of Nasarawa State, is known for his vast academic achievements and humanitarian work. Holding three degrees and two PhDs in fields such as Conflict Management and History and International Studies, he has dedicated his life to education and spiritual leadership. He is also the founder of the Faith Hill Prophetic Assembly, which has 15 branches across Nigeria.
On the forthcoming SWAN week scheduled to begin on August 26th, 2024, Archbishop Jatau promised to attend the events by God’s grace, expressing his delight at being named the Grand Patron of Table Tennis in Nasarawa State. As a sign of his appreciation, he presented gifts to the SWAN members, reaffirming that his humanitarian work is driven by a divine calling.
Additionally, the Archbishop, who also serves as the first Director General of Pan-African Universities in West Africa, leads several initiatives through Faith Hill Prophetic Assembly. These include entrepreneurial skills training in areas such as tailoring, baking, shoe making, and hairdressing. The organization also provides free medical services, water supply, and operates a soup kitchen that feeds the needy three days a week.
Earlier, Comrade Smah George Josiah, Chairman of SWAN Nasarawa State Chapter, expressed gratitude to Archbishop Jatau for the warm reception and commended his philanthropic efforts. He noted that Jatau’s life of service is one worth emulating and emphasized the importance of the visit in fostering closer ties with the Archbishop.
The Sun also reports that gift were  presented to the SWAN members, marking the beginning of a promising relationship between the association and Archbishop Jatau.
