Nigeria editors elect new leaders June

The 2023 Biennial Convention of the Nigeria Guild Editors (NGE) has been scheduled for June.

According to a statement by Iyobosa Uwugiaren, general secretary, the exact date and venue are being worked out and members will be informed as soon as possible.

During the conference, all the 16 positions in the Standing Committee shall be contested for.

They include President, Deputy President, Vice President (West), Vice President (East), Vice President (North), General Secretary, Assistant General Secretary, Treasurer, Social & Publicity Secretary, Standing Committee Members, West (3), Standing Committee Members, North (2), Standing Committee Members, East (2)

“For our members who are yet to update their annual dues, there is a window of opportunity to still do so. Article 8 (subsection 2) says, “For a member to be eligible to vote and be voted for, financial obligation shall be up to date at least 30 days before the next National Convention.”

“Therefore, members who are yet to update their annual dues are advised to do so on or before May 15, 2023.

“Please, note that the business of the National Convention will be strictly conducted in line with our constitution,” Uwugiaren said.
