The Niger State Government, through the Niger State Investment Promotion Agency (NSIPA), has announced a landmark private sector investment by Asba & Wisdom International Limited, marking another significant milestone in the state’s drive towards industrialisation, economic diversification and sustainable investment-led growth.

The company has commenced the development process for a large-scale industrial hub in Lambata, Gurara Local Government Area, following the issuance of a statutory Certificate of Occupancy covering approximately 1,666.288 hectares of land designated for industrial development.

The first flagship investment within the proposed industrial hub is a US$200 million Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) plant, designed with a processing capacity of 500,000 standard cubic metres of natural gas per day and an estimated production capacity of approximately 350 tonnes of LNG daily.

The proposed LNG facility is expected to strengthen domestic gas utilisation, improve energy security, support industrial development, reduce dependence on imported LNG products and contribute to Nigeria’s transition to cleaner energy sources. According to the investor’s project proposal, the facility is intended to serve both domestic demand and export markets while supporting Nigeria’s broader industrial growth objectives.

Beyond the LNG project, Asba & Wisdom International Limited has unveiled plans for a comprehensive industrial ecosystem comprising a Free Trade Zone, bonded warehouse facilities, a building materials industrial park, an auto parts manufacturing cluster, a mechanical processing industrial park, a daily hardware manufacturing zone, a food processing industrial park, a home appliance manufacturing zone, as well as supporting infrastructure and residential facilities for workers and investors.

According to the investor’s development plan, the long-term vision for the industrial hub is to accommodate approximately 400 enterprises, generate up to 100,000 direct and indirect jobs, and contribute an estimated US$2.23 billion to economic output upon full completion.

The investment reinforces Niger State’s growing reputation as one of Nigeria’s most attractive destinations for manufacturing, energy, logistics and industrial investments. Strategically located approximately 57 kilometres from Abuja, the project site offers investors excellent connectivity to major markets, abundant land resources and access to critical transport corridors.

Speaking on the announcement, the Niger State Investment Promotion Agency reaffirmed the state government’s commitment to creating an enabling business environment through investor-friendly policies, transparent governance and efficient investment facilitation.

The agency noted that the proposed development aligns with the Niger State Government’s vision of positioning the state as Nigeria’s leading destination for industrial production, value addition, clean energy investment and export-oriented manufacturing.

The Niger State Government welcomed the investment announcement and said it looks forward to working closely with Asba & Wisdom International Limited and other relevant stakeholders as the project progresses through its various development phases.

The project is being developed by Asba & Wisdom International Limited at Lambata in Gurara Local Government Area of Niger State. The phase one investment is valued at US$200 million, with the anchor project being a Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) plant.

The facility is designed to process 500,000 standard cubic metres of natural gas per day and produce approximately 350 tonnes of LNG daily. The project occupies about 1,666.288 hectares of land and is envisioned as a multi-sector industrial hub incorporating manufacturing, logistics, food processing, energy and export-oriented industries.
