The Niger State governor, Umar Muhammed Bago, has said that his government will establish yam processing factory in Paiko, headquarters of Paikoro Local Government Area, to boost food security.
Governor Bago stated this when visited the area to inspect some ongoing projects started by his administration as part of his statewide tour.
“The people of Paiko who are predominantly yam farmers deserve to have a modern yam Processing factory to process the commodities which will enhance their economic well-being in the area and my government will not relent untill he see this project is achieved””, he said
On the 50 capacity bed hospital project by senator representing Niger East Senatorial District, Alhaji Muhammed Sani Musa, the governor said his government would convert the hospital to a General Hospital to make healthcare delivery more accessible to the people in the area.
The chairman of Paikoro Local Government, Mr Aminu Yandai, commended the governor for tackling the challenge of insecurity in the area.

He then appealed to the governor to extend the ongy five kilometer roads projects across the state to 7 kilometer in the area to boost the easy movement of goods and services in the area.
