Senator representing Niger East senatorial district, Senator Sani Musa said additional troops are being deployed to communities affected by recent attacks in the state as part of efforts to restore peace in those areas.
Musa spoke at Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida Specialist Hospital, Minna, where he visited survivors of the attacks being treated at the facility.
The Chairman of the Senate Committee on Finance assured residents in the Shiroro axis that their security remains top priority and authorities are acting to preserve it.
“Before leaving Abuja, I reached out to security authorities, and I was assured that additional troops are being deployed to the affected areas. The Niger State Government has also taken swift action to contain the situation,” he said.

The senator commiserated with survivors after the attacks, which he described as non-conventional.
He condemned the attacks in its entirety, maintaining that ongoing intelligence sharing and coordinated operations among security agencies would be key to tracking down the perpetrators and preventing further violence.
Reports indicate at least 60 people, including more than 40 security operatives, have been killed in coordinated attacks on communities in the Shiroro Local Government Area of Niger State, marking a violent end to weeks of relative peace in the area.
The assaults that began on Monday in Lanta village spread to Bagna village on Tuesday.
