Nigeria Governors’ Forum (NGF) has expressed profound grief over the sudden death of Bayelsa State Deputy Governor, Lawrence Ewhrudjakpo, who reportedly collapsed early on Thursday and was later confirmed dead.
In a statement signed by the Director of Media and Strategic Communications for the NGF, Yunusa Abdullahi, the Forum described the late Ewhrudjakpo as a dedicated public servant, visionary leader, and exemplary deputy who served Bayelsa with unwavering commitment.
“His inspiring values to public service are exemplary and will remain indelible to his friends and colleagues,” the statement noted.
NGF Chairman and Kwara State Governor, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, paid tribute to Ewhrudjakpo’s legacy, stating: “His unwavering commitment to good governance, social justice and welfare of his people stood as a testament to his character and leadership. His contributions to the development of Bayelsa State and its people will be fondly remembered.”
The Forum extended its sympathies to Bayelsa State Governor, Senator Douye Diri, the people of Bayelsa, as well as the late deputy governor’s family and friends, describing the loss as irreparable.
