News Central recognised for impact at 2025 PR power awards

News Central has been recognised for its contribution to public engagement and communication at the 2025 PR Power List Awards held in Lagos recently.

Curated by GLG Communications in partnership with The Guardian and Edelman Afrique, the annual awards spotlighted 50 individuals and organisations considered to be influencing Nigeria’s public relations and media landscape, while impacting their audiences. Award categories included Rising Voices, Change-makers, Community Impact and Fourth Estate.

News Central featured among media organisations acknowledged for their roles in shaping discourse and expanding public access to credible information.

Commenting on the recognition, Director of Commercial and Communications at News Central, Rosemary Egabor Afolahan, said: “This recognition is a result of the work we continue to do. Thank you to the PR Power List team for acknowledging our efforts.”

She pledged that the station would not relent in its commitment to delivering impactful storytelling, fostering public discourse and promoting responsible journalism across the continent.

The organisers emphasised that the event was aimed at highlighting communications professionals and institutions, whose work strengthens transparency, trust and engagement across Nigeria.
