A new digital innovation in Nigeria’s business landscape has been unveiled with the launch of 8 Market Days, an online marketing platform designed to connect buyers, sellers and service providers across the globe.

Developed by 8 Market Days Limited, the platform aims to simplify how individuals and businesses promote and access goods and services. The app allows users to buy, sell and advertise a wide range of products, including fashion items, food, electronics, educational materials, home appliances and building supplies.

Speaking at the official unveiling ceremony held in Owerri, Imo State, last week, the chief executive officer, Mr. Nwaigwe Livinus Solomon Agyakwah, described the platform as “a major step forward for digital commerce in Africa.”

Agyakwah said the app is positioned to address long-standing challenges facing vendors and service providers in reaching customers.

According to him, “8 Market Days is designed to eliminate barriers between sellers and buyers by providing a user-friendly interface where products and services can be easily uploaded and accessed.

“This platform will ease the problem of vendors connecting with customers while also giving service providers greater visibility and opportunities to grow.”

The platform also caters extensively to service providers. Professionals in sectors such as construction, transportation, painting, phone repairs and other skilled trades can list their services and connect directly with potential clients.

This feature is expected to broaden access to skilled services while creating more income opportunities.

Unlike many digital marketplaces, the promoters stated that 8 Market Days is free to use, making it accessible to small business owners, traders and independent professionals. Users can simply download the app from the Google Play Store, create an account and begin listing their products or services immediately.

The vision behind 8 Market Days, the developers explained, is to bring the traditional marketplace into the digital space, allowing users to conduct business from the comfort of their homes. With internet accessibility, the platform is positioned to serve not only Nigeria but also a global audience.

Industry observers and tradesmen have noted that the launch comes at a time when digital commerce is rapidly expanding in Africa, driven by increased smartphone penetration and internet usage.

The company has called on vendors, traders and service providers to take advantage of the platform by registering and showcasing their offerings for wider reach and increased patronage.
