The Police Community Relation Committee (PCRC) Zone 9 has pledged to strengthen its collaboration with the new Assistant Inspector General of Police (AIG), Yusuf Suleiman.
This commitment was made during a courtesy visit by the PCRC executive members, led by Chairman Collins Obi, to the AIG’s office at the Umuahia, Abia State Police headquarters on Wednesday.
Obi praised Suleiman’s efforts to improve police-community relations and assured him of the PCRC’s support in maintaining good policing standards in Zone 9.
The PCRC chairman also highlighted the organisation’s achievements, including the establishment of a transit camp, the donation of 40 Hilux buses, and the provision of amenities like boreholes and standing tanks.
Suleiman, in his response, expressed his willingness to partner with the PCRC and commended their contributions to the community. He encouraged the team to continue supporting societal development.
He also commended the patron of the zone’s PCRC, Blessing U. Nwogu, for the continued assistance rendered to late police wives.
