Wilfred Ndidi has called off all transfer talks so as to focus on the Super Eagles 2026 World Cup qualifiers beginning with a must-win clash against South Africa Friday night in Uyo.
Representatives of the defensive midfielder specially told SCORENigeria all the attention now is directed at the Super Eagles winning both games to get their World Cup qualifying campaign back on course.
“The main focus for the player are the World Cup games,” one of the handlers of the player insisted.
Ndidi is the most senior international for the forthcoming qualifiers – 55 caps since Super Eagles debut October 2015 – and he is therefore expected to captain the Super Eagles.
Injury kept him out of the AFCON earlier this year.
He will be a free agent when his contract with Leicester City runs out at the end of this month.
Transfermarkt estimates his value to be about €16 million.
He has been bombarded by offers from across the world – from Saudi Arabia to Italy and even the Premier League.
At 27, the midfielder, who flourished in a more attacking role in the English Championship this past season, will hope to secure the financial future of his young family by his next transfer.
