Navy honours OPM Chinyere  with Golden Icon Medal for  impact on society

The General Overseer of Omega Power Ministries (OPM), Chibuzor Chinyere, was  at the weekend conferred with an award of Honour, Certificate of Recognition and a Golden Icon Medal from the Nigerian Navy Ship  Sagbama in Bayelsa State.
The Commanding Officer, Nigeria Navy Ship, Commander E.L. Ebute, conferred the award on Chinyere at a short ceremony at his residence in Port Harcourt, Rivers  State.
Commander Ebute said the award was in recognition for the cleric’s immense contributions to the quality of social crusade aimed at creating communities of caring people, building  apostles of social justice, promotion of peace and tranquility, as well as  service to humanity.
The Port Harcourt-based  cleric, has been widely recognized for his humanitarian engagements through his foundation, which   have  touched lives positively.
Records about the cleric revealed that through his free school initiatives, many out-of-school children had gone back to school. His free specialist hospital has contributed immensely in reducing the high rate of maternal mortality in Nigeria.
It was also learnt that  his free estates have accommodated many homeless  families and his  free skills acquisition centre has graduated over 40,000 Nigerians in different vocational skills free-of-charge.
Further report about Chinyere showed that  local and international scholarships scheme has offered over 10,000 Nigerians scholarships, some of whom are currently studying in Cyprus, United States of  America, Canada, Turkey, Poland, London and Benin Republic.
Apostle Chinyere also built the first Free school for children born with autism and downsyndrome in  Port Harcourt.
Daily Sun learnt that  the OPM Founder and General Overseer has  contributed to  restoring peace and security in Rivers State through the collaborative efforts of the  State government and Nigeria Police, by creating an enabling environment where armed robbers, kidnappers, cultist and others social deviants willingly surrender their arms and ammunition to the church.
The weapons recovered from men of underworld were subsequently handed over to the Nigeria police while he (Chinyere) takes the responsibilities of rehabilitating them to become useful people in society.
