The Nasarawa State Government, through Hajiya Munira Abdullahi, Commissioner of Finance, Budget, and Planning, has urged critical stakeholders to lend maximum support for the effective execution of the “Budget of Renewed Commitment” for the year 2024.
Quoting Hajiya Munira Abdullahi on Friday during the 2024 budget analysis held at the conference hall of the ministry of finance, Budget and planning.
“Governor Abdullahi Sule’s assent to the 2024 budget on December 29, 2023, underscores our commitment. The budget is set at ₦199.87 billion, with funding from various sources, including statutory revenue, VAT, exchange gain, special allocation, NNPC refund, federal allocation, internal revenue generation, and capital receipts.”
Munirat explained that Statutory Revenue Allocation is tagged at ₦45 billion Value Added Tax (VAT): ₦27.5 billion Exchange Gain: ₦7.5 billion
Special Allocation: ₦11 billion
NNPC Refund: ₦20 billion Other Federal Allocation Revenue: ₦5.93 billion
Internal Revenue Generation: ₦43.3 billion Capital Receipts: ₦32.59 billion
Quoting Hajiya Munira Abdullahi on Sectoral Allocation.
“The budget allocates ₦39.69 billion to administration, ₦67.67 billion to the economic sector, ₦6.76 billion to law and justice, and ₦85.6 billion to the social sector.”
On accountability, transparency, Hajiya Munira Abdullahi emphasized, “This administration places immense importance on accountability and transparency in the management of public resources.”
In response, Comrade Salihu Mohammed Alkali, Chairman of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, Nasarawa State Council, represented by Vice Chairman Joel Elafiku, pledged the union’s commitment to working closely with the state government to ensure the success of the 2024 budget proposal.
